Tony Perez - Goodbye for Now!

I first met Tony Perez in 1991, when the US Embassy/USIS sent me on a book tour in the Philippines. He was working for the US Embassy with Cultural Affairs, and he and Tanya Anderson were the primary folks assigned to take care of me. Tony, Tanya, and Bernie Lovejoy travelled with me to Zamboanga and also to Baguio where I gave talks.

I quickly discovered Tony’s interest in the paranormal and we had a lot of conversations about this topic. I recall talking to him about some presence in my hotel room in Zamboanga, something he took seriously. At the end of the talking tour, before we parted, he gave me some anting-antings which I still have.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

The Database of Philippine Works in Translation is a growing bibliographic resource that catalogs Philippine literature translated into English and other foreign languages compiled and maintained by Anthony John Balisi since 2020. It covers all types of works, not limited to literary texts, that have been translated into a foreign language.

The database also includes publications about the Philippines released abroad, as well as works by non-Filipino authors. However, titles originally published in English in the Philippines and later released as international English editions are not included. This database contains published Philippine works translated into foreign languages, mainly from the post-World War II period onwards.

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list, but more of a work-in-progress. Feel free to message me if you want to offer an addition to the list. To request access to the database, please send me a message.
