Food, Quebec City, and a Quiz for all

Friday, August 2 turned out to be a Foodie Day.

We had lunch at Toque! which is rated the best restaurant in Montreal. We had fois gras, magret de canard, scallops, and pasta, and had five desserts which we shared.

The same day Friday, we drove to Quebec City, arriving at the Old City, at around 7:30 p.m.  We decided to have dinner, got a tip from a woman walking her dog about where to park, and more importantly, where to eat. We had an excellent dinner at restaurant Boulay. Their menu included bison cheeks, hangar steak with bone marrow, veal tongue, and many other interesting "boreal" specialties. This gourmet restaurant is rated highly by TripAdvisor and others.

I was very happy to see the Old City of Quebec once again.  I was here in October of 2007, when the leaves were turning, and while the fall colors were very dramatic, the weather was getting a bit too chilly for my tropical blood.  But now, it's summer and warm and simply wonderful.

The magical thing about this trip is that it continues to peak, because of the deepening and maturing of old friendships. We have learned to appreciate and respect one another more than ever!

That's the good news.

The bad news is I'm having difficulties with my camera, having filled my memory card, which seems to make my downloading of pictures difficult.  I will try to get a new memory card tomorrow and hopefully this problem will be solved.

In the meantime, I'm posting two pictures, one taken when we were in convent school, and a recent one of the four of us: Cecilia Brainard, Guia Lim, Evelyn del Rosario, and Chit Acayan.

Your job is to find us in the Convent School picture.

Email your answers to cbrainard@aol.com.  Seriously, I will mail one of my books to the ones who give the right answer.

So here are the pictures -- enjoy!

Hasta luego,
