Time to Prepare for Baking Fruitcake for the Holidays

 

TIME TO PREPARE FOR BAKING FRUITCAKE for the #Christmas holidays

My friend Richard Little reminded me to get started on my fruit cake. You need to soak the fruit and nuts in brandy or rum before baking; and then you need to soak the cake with brandy or rum as well. I just ordered fruit and peel mix, and I'll be buying nuts shortly. I'll be baking in September so my dark fruitcake will be ready in November and December. The pictures show my recipe for dark fruitcake, and last year's photo of a batch I baked.
