Here are two more authors who'll be participating in the HOT OFF THE PRESS Literary Readings in San Francisco on October 7 and 8, 2017. These readings are part of the Filipino American International Book Festival. They will be held at the San Francisco Main Library at 100 Larkin Street, Civic Center, San Francisco, CA 94102.

Giovanni Ortega will be reading from Ang Gitano (2017)

Giovanni Ortega is an author who took the literary artist category for FPAC Pahayag Project for the most sought after writer with his first book, Leaves from the Silverlake Barrio. A collection of his poetry was also published in Completely Mixed Up. As a playwright, he wrote Criers for Hire, which became the highest grossing world premiere play for East West Players Theater. Additional Commissions: The Sea, ALLOS – The Carlos Bulosan Story and Mutyang Kalayaan. He was the resident scholar for Playwriting Australia and is currently an Asst. Professor in Pomona College

Janice Sapigao will be reading from
Like Solid to a Shadow
(Timeless, Infinite Light 2017)

Janie Sapigao is a daughter of Filipina/o immigrants. She is the author of two books of poetry: microchips for millions (PAWA, Inc. 2016) and Like a Solid to a Shadow (Timeless, Infinite Light 2017). She is a VONA/Voices and Kundiman Fellow and the Associate Editor of TAYO Literary Magazine. She co-founded Sunday Jump. She earned her MFA in Writing from CalArts and she has a BA in Ethnic Studies with Honors from US San Diego. View more of her work at janicewrites.com.
