Middle East: Syrian and Turkish Wedding Couples to Remember

Here are two touching stories that have been circulating in the internet. First is the news about the Syrian couple who got married in bombed-out St. George Church in Homs, Syria - see picture above.

The second is about a Turkish couple who decided to feed 4,000 Syrian refugees instead of having a lavish wedding banquet -- see second picture.

News like these usually appear first in Twitter and Facebook where they go viral before they are picked up by the regular media.

I find these news heartwarming. They give another angle to the chaos and carnage in the Middle East.

Barrel-bombing, suicide detonation, beheading create dark feelings, a sense of desperation -- an ugly side of humanity.

But stories like the Syrian newly weds who got married in a church that's been destroyed, and the couple in Turkey who sacrificed their wedding reception to feed refugees reveal courage, tenacity, generosity, a loving and gentle side of man --- a nobility that we would like to emulate.

May God bless and protect them and grant them and their people peace!

Have a great weekend, dear Readers!
