INVITATION: June 12 Writers' Program Publication Party, UCLA Extension

The Staff of the Writers' Program, UCLA Extension, throws the best Publication Party! Not only is there a great literary reading, there's food and drink afterwards. The writers who participate have great work and are good readers, and the audience are avid and enthusiastic.

I would like to invite you to the the 21st Publication Party of UCLA Extension's Writers' Program, on Thursday, June 12, 2014, from 7-9:30 p.m. at the Skirball Cultural Center, 2701 North Sepulveda Blvd., Los Angeles, California.

I'll be reading, along with 17 other instructors of the Writers' Program. We'll be celebrating the publication of our work in the past year. I'll be sharing an excerpt from my novel-in-progress that was published in a magazine.

The reading is very fun. Writers are given five minutes each, and the program moves along briskly, and with a lot of energy. I love listening to these writers as well; I've known some of them for a long time, and these readings are like wonderful reunions. There's a lot of camaraderie among the writers and their guests, and it's a lovely literary event altogether.  If you're in the Los Angeles area, you must try to attend.

Here are two video clips of readings I did at the 2010 and 2011 Publication Parties; these these will give you the idea of what goes on there.
