Friday, May 1, was a glorious day. On our way to the Central Coast (of California), we had lunch at a cafe along the Pacific Coast Highway. My son, who surfs, introduced us to this seafood place in Malibu, California. Apparently this cafe is a favorite surfer hangout.
The Malibu Seafood Fresh Market and Patio Cafe has very good fish and chips, mussels, clam chowder, lobster, crab, shrimps, and other seafood.
The place is informal. You order your food at a counter, find a table, and wait until the buzzer they give you goes off. You pick up your food and eat picnic style.
We had fish and chips, clam chowder, and fresh mussels. The fish was fresh and well-prepared. The fish and chips seems to be their signature dish. I had the clam chowder and mussels and they were all right but not exceptional. (The clam chowder at Brophy's in Santa Barbara is much better.
I rate the Malibu cafe 3.5 Stars.

It is a pleasant place to have lunch or brunch on a weekend. The ocean view is fantastic.
