Thanksgiving Day 2014 - Family Pictures

Thanksgiving Day Pictures!

Thanksgiving Day this year was the warmest ever; it felt like summer. In other parts of the country, there were/are snowstorms with many travelers dealing with cancelled air flights.

A huge group of us celebrated this major American holiday, which is always held on the fourth Thursday in November. (Thanksgiving, along with Christmas and Easter are the top three American holidays.) Thanksgiving pretty much ushers in the Christmas season, and the shopping frenzy begins on Black Friday (the Friday after Thanksgiving).

There's a picture of a peacock -- there are wild peacocks in the area where we celebrated. The peacocks originally came from the Arboreteum and have escaped and multiplied in the neighborhood. They look lovely, but apparently can destroy gardens.
