Typhoon Hagupit Weakens, Spares Philippines

The slow-moving Typhoon Hagupit or Ruby weakened into a tropical storm, and while it killed some people and destroyed homes, spared the Philippines from the kind of destruction wrought by Super Typhoon Haiyan or Yolanda last year.

Meanwhile, Southern California is expecting much-needed rain this coming Thursday and Friday.
